Volunteer Program
The University Health Center Volunteer Program was established to provide students with an opportunity to gain experience working in a health care setting and to provide exposure to working with a variety of health care professionals. In return, the Health Center benefits from the support the volunteers provide, increasing the effective delivery of health care services to the campus community.
Volunteers must adhere to a strict patient confidentiality policy and may not begin work until a confidentiality statement is signed and HIPAA training has been received.
Please note that due to confidentiality issues, electronic medical records and lack of clinical skills, volunteers have a limited amount of direct patient contact at the Health Center.
For more information, please call (301) 314-8095 or email zapata@health.umd.edu.
