Pharmacy Winter Break Hours Updated

The Pharmacy will be closed from December 22, 2007 through January 1, 2008
During Winter Session (1/2/2008 through 1/22/2008), The pharamcy hours will be as follows:
1/2/08 through 1/4/08: 9:30AM to 5:00PM
1/7/08 & 1/8/08: open 1:00PM to 5:00PM only
1/9/08 through 1/18/08: Monday through Friday 9:30AM to 5:00PM
1/21/08 University Holiday--Closed
As of 1/22/08, the pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday 9:30AM to 5:00PM

The Pharmacy is located in the University Health Center for University of Maryland, College Park. We provide pharmacy services for students, faculty, staff and their immediate family members. As future professionals, our student employees and volunteers recognize and respect the issue of patient confidentiality! We accept many prescription insurance plans, including BC/BS, NPA, PAID, and PCS - (including the State's prescription insurance plan). Methods of payment we accept include cash, check, Terrapin Express, student account, Visa, Discover, and Mastercard.

We fill prescriptions from any (on- or off-campus) physician, dentist, or medical provider when legally permissible. We accept prescriptions over the telephone and via fax directly from your medical provider's office, when legally permissible.

We will call your physician's office for refills or new prescriptions. Upon your request, we will call other pharmacies to transfer your prescription(s) to our pharmacy. We offer professional, courteous and personal service to you as an individual.

We carry a variety of non-prescription items and can special order select items we do not carry. With your written permission, we can provide detailed print-outs of your medication history. A pharmacist is available to discuss your medication with you - it is important to communicate before you medicate. back to top

If you have your prescription number (Located in the upper left-hand corner of your prescription label or receipt), Please CLICK HERE to request a refill via the web

Via the phone

Call (301) 314-8186 to request a refill. If you have your prescription number (Located in the upper left-hand corner of your prescription label or receipt), you will be able to request a refill and you will know when your request will be ready for pickup (The system will also let you know whether you have refills available to fill). If you do not have prescription number, you will be able to leave a message requesting a refill.

Questions to ask when filling prescriptions or buying over-the-counter medications

  • How often do I take this medication?
  • What is the proper way to store this medication?
  • What do I do if I miss a dose?
  • Will it interact with other medications I am taking?
  • How do I take this medication - on an empty stomach, with food, or does it matter?
  • Are there possible side-effects?
