Location & Hours

The clinic is located in Room 0106 of the Health Center, and is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Wednesday.

To make an appointment, please call (301) 314-8184.

The Occupational Health Clinic provides medical services to all University of Maryland employees who work with hazardous materials or in hazardous environments. These services include:

  • pre-placement examinations and required work related immunizations (Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Rabies...)
  • periodic medical surveillance (Hazmat, Asbestos, Hearing, Pesticide exposure, Rabies protection, Lead, TB...)
  • periodic health assessments (Respirator use, DOT certificate
  • treatment of work related exposures (BBP, TB, Hazardous chemicals/physical/biological agents)
  • fitness for duty examinations
  • consultation and education on occupational health concerns
  • wellness programs (reducing cardiovascular risks, stop smoking, back safety, carpal tunnel syndrome)

What to do in case of an injury

Report it to your supervisor. Your supervisor can report the injury to Injured Workers Insurance Fund. If medical care is needed, go to the Urgent Care unit at the Health Center, or to the emergency department of a local hospital (if the Health Center is closed) or to your personal physician. Report the injury to the Workers' Compensation Office within 3 days.
