After Hours NurseLine NEW!After Hours NurseLineContact: (301) 314-9386 The University Health Center has enhanced its services for the 2006 – 2007 School Year by entering into an agreement with Optum, a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary, to provide the student population with access to a NurseLine after our normal hours of operations. The After Hours NurseLine is available when the Health Center is closed, or when hours vary due to semester breaks, summer sessions, holidays, severe weather, or other emergency closings. The Health Center's Fall and Spring semester hours of operations are from 8am until 7pm (Monday – Friday), 11 am until 3pm (Saturday), and closed on Sunday. Winter and Summer session hours are Monday through Friday , 8 am to 5 pm and closed on weekends. What is the “After Hours NurseLine”?“After Hours NurseLine”, by Optum, is a health information service you can call when the University Health Center is closed. The “After Hours NurseLine” is staffed with a team of experienced registered nurses who can provide information, support and education for many health-related question or concern. Who is eligible to call the “After Hours NurseLine”?To access this service you must present your unique University of Maryland Identification Number that is located on your Student ID. Your active status as a student will be verified at the beginning of the call. How can the “After Hours NurseLine” help me?When you're sick or injured, you may want help making health care decisions. You may not know if you should go to an urgent care center, make a doctor's appointment or use self-care. “After Hours NurseLine” can help you decide. Or, you may just be curious about a health issue and want to learn more. With “After Hours NurseLine”, answers to your health questions are just a phone call away. What kinds of issues can “After Hours NurseLine” help address?Nurses can provide information and support for many health situations and concerns, including:
