GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate)

aka: Georgia home boy, liquid X, G, Grievous bodily harm, Goop

What is it?

GHB is a central nervous system depressant. It was originally used in small doses as a bodybuilding aide. GHB is an illegal substance that is sometimes used as a "club" drug and has also been used as a predatory or "date-rape" drug. GHB is usually a clear liquid or a white powder, and is odorless.

Effects

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Unconsciousness
  • Seizures
  • Severe respiratory distress

Special Considerations

GHB is a powerful sedative and should not be mixed with any other depressant, such as alcohol.
