Interpretation

HWP offers language assistance (Spanish) for individuals visiting the Health Center. Patients may request an interpreter when they arrive at the Health Center. If they need assistance for making appointments, communicating with the medical and non-medical staff, HWP can provide an interpreter to help them with these activities. The patient may also contact us or visit our office during our regular hours (Monday thru Friday, 9:00 to 5:00 during the academic year) to request an interpreter.

HWP interpreters complete a medical interpretation training and sign confidentiality agreements.

Translation

HWP offers translation services for the UHC staff. HWP volunteers can translate to Spanish any document, including medical forms, advertising fliers, brochures, etc.

To request new translations:

Send a request to our office, include a copy (hard copy or electronic file) of the original document and specify the due date. Allow 2 weeks for the translation to be completed.

To request a copy of completed translations:

HWP has translated various types of literature for the UHC like brochures, health information fliers, etc. Visit our office to browse through the bilingual material we have available.

We also have a number of UHC medical forms that we have translated. Click here to view the directory. You may request copies of these translated forms by contacting our office. Please specify the translation number of the form you would like.
