LGBTQ Health & Sexuality Resources

The University Health Center is committed to providing caring, quality, confidential services to all students, faculty and staff regardless of sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.  We work hard to provide all students with a non-judgmental setting in which to receive health care services.

We understand lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) members of our campus community may have concerns about confidentiality or fears of experiencing discrimination based on their identities. We understand that some (LGBTQ) students may also be ambivalent about their sexual identity as well as their sexual orientation and that ambivalence can make the presumed intimacy of a visit with a health care provider even more anxiety producing.

To meet the health and wellness needs of all campus community members, the University Health Center offers many programs and services. Whether you are interested in primary or urgent care, women's health services, exploring alternative medicine , or are looking for general health and wellness information, our staff of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other health professionals are ready to help.

The University of Maryland at College park scored a 4.5 out of 5 on the LGBT friendly Campus Climate Index National Assessment Tool. Check out our score and how it was determined, here.
