Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Transgender Health Conference

 


We look forward to hosting the first Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Transgender Health Conference here at the University of Maryland-College Park!

This conference will provide several opportunities for health and wellness professionals to engage and enhance their competencies while working with and for transgender college students. 


Schedule & Registration

The conference will take place on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Check-in, registration, and breakfast will be open from 8:00am to 8:30am. Sessions will begin at 8:30am. 

A light breakfast, boxed lunch, refreshments and dessert will be provided.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the University Health Center Program of Continuing Medical Education (UHCPCME). UHCPCME is accredited by MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UHCPCME designates this live educational activity for a maximum of  4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


The University of Maryland Counseling Center is approved to offer Continuing Education by the Maryland Board of Psychologists to provide psychologists with continuing education programs. The University of Maryland Counseling Center has designated three workshops as CE eligible, yielding a maximum of 4 CE credits.

Cost

This conference is FREE to faculty and staff working for colleges and universities. This conference is $50 for community professionals (non-university affiliates).


Parking

Whether you are travelling by car or metro, direction to campus can be found here. The local address for The Stamp Student Unio is 3972 Campus Drive, College Park, MD 20742. If you put that address directly in your GPS it should bring you to the front of the building. Registration will be in the front lobby, please use the front entrance to the building. 

Parking can be very limited on campus, especially with our current construction on campus. We encourage you to metro or carpool, if possible. If you are driving and parking on campus there are 3 options:

  1. MOST COST EFFECTIVE: Park at the College Park – U of MD Metro Station ($6/day) and take the free Shuttle Bus 104 (runs every 10 minutes, 8 minute ride directly to The Stamp).
  2. CLOSEST: Park in the Union Lane Garage ($3/hour and max $15/day) which is immediately adjacent to The Stamp Student Union (conference location).
  3. Drive around to find metered parking near The Stamp ($3/hour with usually a 2 hour limit).
If you are taking the metro, get off at College Park – U of MD (Green Line) and take the free Shuttle Bus 104 (runs every 10 minutes, 8 minute ride directly to The Stamp).

Lactation Space

The lactation room is located on the second floor next to the Calvert Room. There is a stairwell/elevator just outside the Atrium (our main room where we will start and end for the day) that can take you to the second floor and put you near the lactation room as soon as you get off on the 2nd floor.


*Please note - a key is required to access the room and can be picked up at our Information Desk in the main lobby (very close to the main room where we will start and end the day).

  • Complimentary parking on-site
  • Free shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel.  This will take you to the University of Maryland campus and to the College Park-U of MD and Greenbelt metro station (both with service to Washington, DC).

  • Free parking on-site
  • Free shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel.  This will take you to the University of Maryland campus and to the College Park-U of MD and Greenbelt metro station (both with service to Washington, DC).
  • 2 miles from the University of Maryland

    3. Best Western PLUS College Park

    •  Free parking on-site
    • 0.5 miles (10 minute walk) from meeting venue on campus.  This location does not have a complementary shuttle and public bus.
