Friday, March 29, 2024 | Crafts & Cookies: SAAM Kickoff Event | 3-5pm | Studio A in the STAMP | Hang out and craft with other members of the UMD community to kickoff Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) on campus. We will be engaging in several mindful crafts, including painting, coloring, keychain & bracelet making, and origami. This is event is being hosted by the Sexual Assault Prevention Committee (SAPC), the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM), and CARE to Stop Violence. |
Tuesday, April 2, 2024 | Sexual Assault Prevention Committee SAAM Resource Fair | 3-5pm | McKeldin Mall Rain Date: Monday, April 8, 2024 | The Sexual Assault Prevention Committee will host a Sexual Assault Awareness Month Resource Fair on McKeldin Mall to promote awareness and services related to power-based violence prevention and response on campus. Attendees can browse tables and meet with representatives from various organizations. We will be promoting the campus-wide SAAM calendar and groups will be able to advertise their upcoming events to the campus community. |
Wednesday, April 3, 2024 | The Clothesline Project | 10am-3pm | McKeldin Mall | The Clothesline Project is a visual representation of the impacts of sexual and relationship violence on the campus community. This event from the CARE Office provides community members with an opportunity to confront the issue of power-based violence by creating and displaying their own messages on a shirt during SAAM. |
Wednesday, April 10, 2024 | Take Back the Night (TBTN) | 5-7pm | McKeldin Mall Rain Date: Wednesday, April 17, 2024 | TBTN is a chance to honor all survivors of sexual violence and recognize their collective strength. Join the CARE Peer Advocates in supporting survivors and learn more about how we can work together to prevent Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault. |

Interested in Hosting your own event?
The CARE to Stop Violence Team is always looking for an opportunity to raise awareness of the CARE office’s services and other topics related to power-based violence. Our Outreach team specializes in collaborating, planning, and executing events with groups both on and off campus. CARE Outreach Peers are available to table at your event, provide a brief informational announcement about CARE to the audience, or help you plan your event.
